Ashland's Upper Elementary School
Needs Your Help!
Last year, the generous supporters of the Ashland Education Foundation,
Inc., banded together to replace 28 obsolete computers in the Henry
Warren Elementary School Media Lab. The students and teachers at the
lower elementary school are elated to finally be able to use the software
intended to supplement their curriculum!
We've since learned that because of diminished funds, computer upgrades
have once again been cut from the school budget for next year. This
leaves the Ashland School District unable to replace the 30 six-year-old
computers at the David Mindess School. So, we are once again appealing
to our partners in the community to help.
With the role computers play in today’s society it is critical
that children become proficient in their use. Unfortunately, the computers
the Mindess School are too old to run many of the software programs
needed to support the curriculum. New computers will allow the students
to use skill-enhancing programs for all subjects and learn to conduct
research over the internet.
