2011 GALA

The Ashland Education Foundation, Inc. held its annual Gala on April 29, 2011. The event was held in Ashland and raised over $20,000!

The AEFI awarded eleven teacher grants this year, click here to see the grants awarded. AEFI also acknowledged generous supporters click here for details.  Many supporters donate faithfully each year for which the organization is most grateful!  The evening included entertainment, a silent auction, awards ceremony, dancing and a wonderful dinner that was donated and made by 5 individuals: Fran Blake, Pat Callen, Mark Juitt, Marcia Reni and Kathy Bach.

Two of Ashland’s High School students preformed during the cocktail hour.  Eamon Sheil played saxophone while Parker Sheil played the keyboard which added to the night’s enjoyment.  Leslie Marci explained the AEFI’s Learning cart campaign by having the crowd play “Who wants to be a millionaire” with the questions from the Third grade Ashland projects.  Three and a half carts were donated that night.

Behind the scenes, Melissa Duca and Peter Chisholm co-chaired the event with a lot of help from Brenda Boisonnault and Karen Davidsen who were silent auction co-chairs and Valerie Brouwers who was the decorations chair along with a committee of 17 more.

We would also like to extend our deep gratitude to all those who contributed to the evening’s success. The many individuals on the AEFI board, our volunteers, parents, community members and companies for an outstanding year that will enable us to continue funding teacher grants and keep Ashland in the forefront of technology.
